Having been an "Xian" for many years I can understand your plight. I know how dogmatic and broken this religion, that speaks of having access to a love that surpasses undertanding, can be. It makes me sad. I will try to pray that your mother will show you real Spirit-inspired love and understanding and embrace you for who you are.

Unfortunately too many Xians turn to dogma and fear, and skip the love, patience, gentleness, kindness etc. So sad. I guess I'm one of those rarities who really believes that those who seek find, who knock have the door opened and God is big enough to embrace all people's varied ways of searching a.k.a religion.(and yes, I agree with Kardia the Holy Spirit is "she" not "it")
I enjoy this blog and my own path is enriched from what I learn from your paths. Peace.

Comment on The "sin" of Witchcraft?

I'm glad someone could find it. This includes anything that is deemed "more important right now" than worship and obedience to the only true God, or worshiping the true God in a manner contrary to His Word

"Other gods" have a contagious worthlessness - those who worship worthless gods become worthless in God's sight:

"Behold, you are nothing, and your work is nought; an abomination is he who chooses you." (Isaiah 41:24 RSV)

"But The Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure His indignation. Thus shall you say to them: "The gods who did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens." (Jeremiah 10:10-11 RSV)

Comment on The "sin" of Witchcraft?

If there are any modern Bibles with this translation I am not aware of. them You would need Bible software that contained the scriptures in their original languages, then Greek and Hebrew lexicons to help you translate. Pharmacopoeia is actually the Greek word that was used when that original passage was translated from Hebrew to Greek. It refers to a person who dealt with poisonous herbs and the closest English translation is "poisoner". The passage was condemning individuals who used herbs or plants in a harmful way and not those who used them to help or heal.
Comment on The "sin" of Witchcraft?

It was a bit my sister came across in her studies. The ironic part is they all ideally worship the same God, they even recognize the same prophets and teachers, but still they see themselves as different and separate. Now if these three religions cannot find a middle ground and try to see eye to eye, that certainly doesn't bode well for religions OUTSIDE of these big three. Until the Christians, Jews and Muslims can fix their differences and come together in peace, Pagans, Buddhists, Hindus and all other religious faiths will NEVER be "right". It's going to take many more years before the realization finally hits everyone that the one Divine God/dess is infinitely beyond just one religion. Until that time we continue to worship alone or in small groups just as "witches" have for centuries. Blessed be all.

Comment on The "sin" of Witchcraft?

I believe it says no other gods before Him not besides. That means that He is the God of Gods. If you do some study of ancient texts, that has been a big thing among the ancient gods. Anu or Anna was the God of Gods, the Father of the other Gods, but he gave the godship to his son Enlil. It was stolen and then fought over. This title has always been a big deal among the gods, just look at the story of Marduk. I don't think this commandment means that the Hebrews weren't supposed to have any other gods, they just weren't supposed to hold any higher than JHVH, but Christians do that every day by holding Y'SHUA in equal, if not higher, ranking.

Comment on The "sin" of Witchcraft?

May I ask where you can find the actual translation...such as this one? I know there are losses in translation, as well as purposeful changes, such as this. I am searching for truth, and more knowledge.
