Celebrating Pagan Holidays Around the World
After every article we do on a Sabbat or holiday, we receive emails from all around the globe asking us what the proper time is to celebrate the event in their part of the world. Think of it this way ... the old traditions and rituals were simply intended to help our ancestors stay in tune with nature's cycles. They lived close to the earth, observing its subtle changes, and it was the cycles of the sun, moon and seasons of the earth that determined their activity. Every sabbat or holiday marked a time of change, and a shift in energy that had a physical, mental and spiritual effect on their lives.
Keeping in tune with nature's cycles may sound a bit complicated, but it's not. The bottom line is to celebrate the change in seasons and enjoy whatever activity is appropriate for the current time of year in YOUR part of the world. And don't make your rituals too complicated. They should be fun, a true expression of celebration and thankfulness for what is to come.
And last, but not least, if you miss the exact day or time that the holiday is normally celebrated, it's not the end of the world. What's MOST important is to celebrate when you can. Whenever you stop to observe nature's cycles, and take part in an activity that honors the changes in the seasons around you, you'll find that the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and life becomes more magical. We are trying to find out the interest to travel to the Land of the Mayan on 13.0.0.0.0 [21 Decenter 2012] to be there for the last day of the Mayan Calendar. Interest is high so far and we plan to have lectures and Mayan spiritual leaders with us.

I'm sixteen years old living in England, I really feel I am missing out on something when I celebrate the wiccan holidays by myself, is there a safe way I can talk to other Wiccans?

I often can't fully express what I experienced, but something remarkable happened to me. There is wisdom in nature, and nature in wisdom, the same patterns expressed throughout the repetitions and cycles. I see a world not of seperate individual things, but of one constant flowing everythingness. I recently discovered the power of intention in shaping the world and believe this is the true power of Wicca, the rituals can focus the intent, but with the right intention creating new rituals is always a good idea to invigorate the ancient with new life. By creating a balance between old and new it also gives new dimension to such Magicks. It is simply stating the shape of the Universe to come, unlike prayer which is asking of a higher power to shape the world, it is believing in one's self that you already possess such power and as such need no permission to shape the world. There is real power to Wicca for those who truly believe in it, much as there is for those who truly believe in the power of prayer, and for those who understand the source of such power, their potential can be truly limitless. My vision quest has shown me many things, both great and terrible, but nothing I have seen is more truly remarkable, capable or powerful than a humanity united by understanding. It is said that when humanity unites, we possess more power even than the Gods themselves, that is something I would like to see, outside of my visions.

I have so many questions. I am a Christian and I have a very good friend who is Wiccan so I am not here to criticise.I am studying the truth about the holidays that Christians celebrate. I know that the holidays that we celebrate are Pagan- I have a few friends who are Pagan and wouldn't trade them for anything. If I say anything that is offensive I sure don't mean to. I don't believe in that. I have been trying to tell my parents that Easter has nothing to do with the Resurrection and that Easter was celebrated long before Jesus died on the cross. They don't believe me. What does Yule mean? I heard it in the song, "Deck the halls". I know I am rambling, sorry about that. I just want to know the truth. Thanks for reading my rambling. I am just a nervous chick...about everything. I like what was said about the Religious Mutt. That was classic and good advice.

I Believe That Seasons Aren't Important, That Time Isn't Important, & That Rituals Aren't Important. I Believe This Mostly Because I Was Born, Raised,& Live(d) In The Country Lands On A Farm For Twenty Years. During My Earlier Years Of Life I Experienced Seasons Which Were To Long & Some Times To Short For There Typical Timespan(s)I Have Experinecd Holidays Which Were'nt Celebrated, Dates Which Were'nt Rememberd & Even Events Which Were'nt Remeberd Nor Recorded. A Point Which I'm Trying To Convey Is That Hoilidays,Events, & Seasons Are All Associated In The Term Of Times(s). When I'm In The Country & On The Farm Time Is'nt Realevent I Just Live. I Usally Don't Have A Watch On, I Try to Have My Cellphone Truned Off, & I Try To The Best Of My Abilities To Not Refer To Time In Any sense. I Simply Live Like What I Belive Our/My Past Family(ies) Did & Lived Thier Lives. When I Try To Remove Myself From The Confinments Of Time I Feel Better, Think Better, & I'm More Happy. Time Seems To Restrict, Confine, & Trap. I Truly Belive That Haveing Moments Out Of Time Will Help. Just The Thought Of Not Worring About Hours, Minutes, & Seconds Has My Smileing. Not Being Worried About Meetings, Schedules, & Certain Days Has Me Laughing Out Loud. So Living Once & Awhile With Out Time As A Master, Supervisor, Or Boss In Any Type Of Form Will Hopefully Help Others As The Therory Has Helped Me. Thank You

well idk what to day i just started finding wicca really intesting. im feel like im falling in love with it. i want to know more and more learn more see more. i want to be apart of everything in wicca but i need to find history first i need to know i have been looking up things about wicca and i was talking to my step mom about it and she dosent like it she thinks its nothing but evil she said i can do it but be carful with what i let in and i know what she means but wicca is not evil its a balanced way of thinking and the balance of life and nature. ilove this and i want to learn more someone send me things to look at read find out plz and thnks

When I first started looking into Wicca I got the book "Wicca for Beginners" by Thea Sabin. It was basically a manual that teaches you the basics of everything you want to know in an easy to read guide. I originally checked it out at my local library and then later bought it online. Hope this helps.

I need help I feel lost and confused as so many but I also have over the last year looking in to wicca and as i keep telling myself its not for me or that it wont help at every turn it pops up I feel drawn to something and the books are just more books and the spells I dont realy know much about are just speels This is something more Like a thing that looks so like you havebeen to it before but u have not I need help things are getting hard I dont understand but yet am not well if ant one can help I need a person not more Ill cast a free speel for u buy a book places
